Altopascio

The town of Altopascio is located in Valdinievole, surrounded by four provinces which, Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Pistoia. In the past was known for his chivalrous order and its medieval hospital. The town lies north of the swamp of Bientina and near Lake Sibilla. The hospital in the area was used as a reception point for pilgrims along the Via Francigena.
